Jacqueline A. Lindsey

Welcome to the 2019-20 School Year! Even though we haven’t officially met, I know we share the same vision—the one where your “scholar” walks across the stage in 2023 to receive their well-deserved high school diploma.

This entire school year, I will be asking your scholar to challenge themselves academically through a simple three-step process: 1.) I will provide the tools necessary for your scholar to achieve academic success, 2.) Your scholar will use those tools to accomplish the level of “scholarly” success they have set for themselves, and 3.) Together as a team, we will train brains, strengthen weaknesses, and give our personal best to achieve those goals. That’s it! No tricks, no gimmicks, no hidden agendas! Achieving academic success is quite simple. It’s the 90/10 rule: Ninety percent is showing up with the right mindset (“I Can!”) and ten percent with the right tools to complete the tasks that need to get done. Don’t get me wrong, this year is not going to be easy, pleasant, or always agreeable; but, by working together and meeting the expectations set for us (teacher, parent, and student), we are going to have a fantastic year!

To get us started off right, I have included a supply list, the homework, absenteeism, and late work policies, and an outline of the classroom expectations on the back. Please complete and return the ½ sheet for grading. I will keep you posted on our progress as we go along. “We've got this!”
